For the OHORA
Championship Race Series runs a mix of classes. Predetermined
classes will be raced at each host track with points being awarded
based on finish positions. Classes for the series include Super
Stock T-Jet, Magnatraction, Stock Super G+ Indy,
Stock Tyco GT, Modified and stock Mega G.
RULES for these six classes can be found by clicking
the buttons found at the top of this page.
Those who
have raced with us before will likely be familiar with Magnatraction
as it has carried over to all of our series thus far. Essentially
a stock AFX or Magnatraction with a hardbody and slip on silicone
rear tires. The new X-Traction cars/parts from Johnny Lightning
will again be legal entires into this class. For a more detailed
look please visit the Magna rules
page.
The T-Jet
and Modified were introduced for the 2002-2003 series and
despite the obvious differences in technology and speed, they
have been in the series since they were introduced. The rules
for our Fray T-Jet class (Formerly SS T-jet) were adopted during
the 2010-11 season and are based on the Ftay style T-Jet racing
in the California and selected areas within the US. Check the
Fray T-Jet rules page for
the key differences in the Fray cars and our former SS T-jets.
Of all the OHORA classes Modified gives a racer the most freedom.
Various chassis are legal in Modified and with a little work each
can be competitive. Not only does a racer have a choice of several
chassis, they have an open choice of gears, wheels and tires.
See the complete Modified rules
section for what's legal for your chassis of choice.
The Stock
Tyco NASCAR/GT places more emphasis on driving ability. For 2009-10
we will be racing the GT body. For complete rules check out the
Stock Tyco rules page.
The Mega
G class was introduced to the OHORA for the 2009-10 series.
This chassis was introduced to the slot car scene in 2009, and
is available in a Champ Car Panoz DP-01, 60's Lemans Ford GT40,
Cobra Daytona Coupe or a Chapparal 2D. The body offers enhanced
detail over the previous Super G+ bodies and the chassis provides
a low centre of gravity and a longer wheel base for a more realistic
look. This class will be introduced as stock, with the only option
offered being a choice of slip-on silicone tire on the stock Mega
G rim.
