Below are the names of a selection of past and present racers (listed alphabetically) who will automatically qualify for the initial printing of the Slot Car Hall of Fame book. Additional submittals along with history and pictures will be added in future updates.

• John Torre Anderson (past & present Pro racer who started in 1978.After 32 years is still very competitive, finishing 2nd in the 1999 Nationals.)
• Egil Aksnes (Long time Pro slot racer from Norway.)
• Bobby Arvidson (a member of the Strombecker 1/32 scale team in the '60's. One of the few racers who can say that they never lost a team race right up to the time Strombecker disbanded the team in the late '70's.)
  
• Lloyd Asbury (With a partner, John Brunson, he was the owner & developer of Lancer Bodies. Once owned a genuine Lola T70.)
• Chris Berlew (Known as "Harry", was the founder of the famous Outisight Designs slot car bodies and a well known slot racer in the 70's.)
• Stan Bergman (owner of Classic Industries. Mr. Manta Ray)
  
• Dave Bloom (Famous body painter)
• Steve Bogut (Successful during the '70's running for Camen. The East Coast Rival for the West Coast John Cukras.)
  
• Jerry Brady (past pro racer and venerable east coast winner using one of the very first anglewinder chassis.)
• Gordon Brimhall (From the '60's, a designer and builder of Team Riggen slot cars. Designed the now famous Riggen Tiger logo, and the revolutionary H.O. scale Riggen cars. Home track was Bellflower in California.)
• John Brunson One of the owners of the Lancer Body Company. (See Lloyd Asbury)
  
• Earl Campbell (known as "Fast" Earl Campbell, after being the first racer to break the 4 second barrier in 1972.)
• Chris Chan (staff writer and tech editor for Model Car Science. Also an accomplished racer of the era. Note: thanks to Chris for many updates to this Hall of Fame.)
  
• Al Chuck (past Pro racer, travelling and racing on the West Coast in the 60's and still active in the Bay area.)
• Ted Coates (not much of a slot racer, but "Sundance" bodies were works of art and major concours winners at almost every event.)
• Bob Cotton (Well known racer of the 70's and one of the founders with Joel Montague of Camen. Allegedly, the name Camen originally stood for "Camen and Montague Enterprises.)
• Bob Cozine (One of the top racers for the old Champion of Chamblee in Georgia. Raced and won mostly in the south during the middle and late '60's. Actually came back to the surface and raced a little in the '80s and according to Bob, "had fun, but these cars are too fast today".)
  
• Bob Crawford - Australia - Best known over the years for his high quality Sunset Bodies still in production today.
• Bob Crane (Nicknamed "Stork", Past champion and winner of the now famous Bi-Centinnial held in 1976 at Joel's Race Place.)
• Charlie Cressi (One of the early pioneers in Glen Cove, New York. Many great 1/24th racers in the northeast cut their teeth at Charlie's 1/32 scale slot car club.)
  
• John Cukras (possibly the greatest slot racer ever. Original Champion team member in 1967. Designed the famous Mura Pink motors. Also raced for Team Riggen and Team Mura. In the H.O. slot racing field, he was part of the development team at Aurora Hobbycrafts in Downey, Ca. that designed the AFX G-Plus car.)
• Roger Curtis (Along with Lee Yurada, owned Associated which provided many OEM slot racing products. Until just recently, most all guides and braid came from Associated, eventually, they abandoned slot racing and started building R/C cars.
  
• Phillippe de Lespinay (past Pro racer, dominating the slot racing scene in 1971 and 1972. Today is known for his vintage collection and writing the "Vintage Slot Cars" book which sold out in it's first printing.)
• Lou del Rosario (Owner of Elmsford Raceway in Elmsford, New York. In constant operation since the early '60's)
• Dan DeBella (Top Pro Racer of the past and founder of Pro-Slot.)
• Jim Difalco (Major player in slot racing in the northeast and founder of Difalco Controllers.)
  
• Rick Durkee (original Team Russkit pro racer)
• Stan Engleman (builder of Hi-Speed and Altech slot tracks in the 60's)
• Charlie Fitzpatrick (Long time slot racer from Great Britain and originator of Betta Bodies for Slot Cars.)
• Carl Ford  (Owner of Champion Slot Racing Products. Started out as track owner in 1967 - Grand Prix Raceway in Woodbury, NJ. Sold raceway in 1971 to became manager of Champion East. Bought out Champion of Chamblee and moved it to New Jersey in 1985.)
  
• Ural Foresee ( Pismo Beach Businessman, City Councilman and original owner of Pismo Raceways.)
• Len Gallegos (past travelling pro racer for Team Russkit)
• Ray Gardner (In the '60's ran the Williamsburg Raceway in Georgia and later on some smaller tracks in the area. Later, during the '80's, tried to make a comeback with little success and was the president of the now defunct Track Owners Association.
  
• John Gorski Jr. (Pro racer and professional controller builder. The "Gorski" controller was sought after by all top racers during the 70's)
• *Ron Granlee (founder of Speed Sport Raceway and later Speed Sport Distributing.)
• Bob Green (engineer at Mura Motors and developer of the successful "Green Can")
• Jim Greeneaway (Known as "Big Jim", at some 300+ lbs, the name seemed to fit. He frequented the Glen Oaks Speedway in Glen Oaks, New York. His motors were legendary in those parts and was the top builder in the area for 1/24th scale pro class slot cars and components.
  
• Sandy Gross (past Pro racer) Raced out of New York for Team Cobra in late 60's and early 70's. Was also a top winner for Team Russkit East during the same time period..
• Gil Gunderson (past and present Pro racer known even today for his skills as a top notch motor builder.)
• Phil Hackett (Long time slot racer and one of the original founders of Sonic Products.)
• Pete Hagenbusch (I am looking for information on this racer of the past. Please email me if you have any.)
  
• Bob Hanes (founder of R.E.H. Distributing, in constant operation providing slot car parts to raceways since the 60's.)
• John Hale (Owner of Santa Ana Hobbies and originator of the Epic 24 contests)
  
• Thomas Hanssen (Two time European Champion from Sweden.)
  
• *Charlie Harris (past columnist and racer)
• Duane Harris (Big 8 Raceway in Corpus Christi, Texas was opened by Duane and his brother in the early '60's. Destroyed by Hurricane Carla, Duane rebuilt it as Corpus Christi Slot Car Raceway and as of 2004, it still operates with an active racing schedule. In 2004, Duane Harris at 85 years young, was recognized as the oldest living raceway operator in the United States.)
• William Harless (Known in the northeast as "Papa Bill" and for his winning Mule Shoes tires.)
• Dennis Hill (Affectionatly known as "Foamy". An engineer for Sonic and long time slot racer on the west coast.)
  
• Fred Hood (past and present Pro racer)
• Donna Hubbell (original owner of Slot Shop in Elyria, Ohio.)
• Gene Husting went from owning a gas station to being the owner of Associated, after it no longer served the slot racing industry.
• Bob Kean (Developer of the Kean Can in pre-70's slot motors)
• Bob Kovacs (known as the body painter to the pro's. Many times Kovacs bodies took home the concours honors.)
• Oscar Kovaleski (Original owner of Auto World and writer for Car Model)
• Hi Johnson (owner/founder of Dynamic Models.)
  
• Jack Lane ( in the late 60's was the team captain for the original Champion of Chamblee.)
• Brandon Lee (East Coast Champion slot racer.)
• Ray Lee (East Coast Champion and motor builder.)
• Jan Limpach (The man behind many slot innovations. The "$8.88" chassis, the Championship winning Pacesetter chassis, and the world famous "Limpach Fresh Cuts" racing tires. Never without his trademark shades, day or night, Jan's favorite thing to do was to give away TV sets to winners who used his tires.)
• Greg Lozaga (Manager of Pismo Raceways in the 60's. Member of American Model Raceways Racing congress, and Honorary Team Member of Team Champion.
• Neil McCurdy (Founder of Team Revtech.)
• Ken Mc Dowell (founder of Parma International. Not much more needs to be said. One of the industry's leading pioneers.)
• *Bill Metros (Long time slot racer and motor builder. Also a collector and builder of unusual guns. Passed away April 2004.))
  
• Joel Montague (past and present Pro racer. Famous for his Camen motors and winner of two past National Championships.)
• Roy Moody (past midwest pro racer, known as the racer who invented the anglewinder chassis.)
• Mike Morissey (past pro racer. Leader of the Russkit Team. Along with John Cukras, published Model Car Journal which sold for 25¢ per copy in 1967. The same price as the first Scale Auto Racing News in 1979. He was known as the Developer of the modern day winged professional slot car, however, the first wing car was built by Glenn Toma, Nick Toma's older brother.)
• *George Mura (founder of Mura Motors)
• Ron Mura (owner of Mura Motors was said to have a Lion as a pet.)
  
• Hasse Nilsson (Track Builder who, with John Ford developed the modern day slot track. Before John and Hasse teamed up in the early '80's, all slot tracks were built the original way American did it in the 60's. Now, all tracks look the same and this new design was created by John Ford and brought to life by Hasse Nilsson.)
• Monte Ohren (past and present Pro racer. AKA the Big "O", Monte manufactured top notch slot racing products of the past and pitted for some of the best like Earl Campbell. Today is known for his Best O the West motors.)
• Paul Pfeiffer (Multiple time World and National Champion and founder of Alpha Products.)
  
• Dick Pelletier (East Coast Champion slot racer and chassis builder.)
  
• Ron Pittman (Early '60's motor developer)
• Axel Pomeranz (Top German slot racer since the '70's. Is a Dental Surgeon so the high pitched whine of slot motors makes him feel right at home.)
  
• Tony Przybylowicz (Known as Tony "P" for obvious reasons. Northern chassis builder and engineer for Trinity.)
• Ernie Provetti (Past USRA National Champion and owner of Trinity from Brooklyn, N.Y.)
  
• Ron Quintana (past pro racer with Team Russkit)
• Julito Ramirez (in 1996, Julito won the Carribean Internationals held at the Hobby Lobby in Puerto Rico on a 220ft. Speed International Track.
• *Jose' Rodriguez Jr. (was a pioneer of slot racing and co-founder of Car Model Magazine and also furnished articles for sister magazine, Model Car and Track. He was a member of many of the organizations of the day such as HOCCI and NAMRA.  Known as an excellent car builder, he won many Concours awards. He was also the designer of most Atlas slot cars. The annual Marconi Proxy Race is held in his honor each year. Jose' passed away in 1998.
• Bob Rule (one of the originators of Champion of Chamblee, Georgia. A top slot racer in his own right, but reached national fame as the Duncan YoYo Champion. Never went to a slot race without his yoyo.)
• Jim Russell (founder of Russkit)
• *Thomas Sasse (One of, if not the best, "modelists"  and collector's of vintage slot cars ever. You have only but to "Google" "Totoslot" to see many examples of his work. Photo's of his models have been published many times in Scale Auto Racing News. Passed away June 2004.)
• Stu Schaller (Head of the Strombecker factory team in the '60's. One of the first racers to come up with the idea of creating a chassis with a drop arm to help the car run smoothly over bumpy tracks. Stu was not only the team leader, but built all the team race cars for competition.)
• Terry Schmid ( Two time Southern California Champion.)
  
• John Skeels (Premier Chassis builder/innovator on the West Coast. Raced Pro for Team Pro Slot for many years!)
• Eddie Sohl (Consistant winner during the 70's on the East Coast.)
  
• Mike & Ron Shure (Original owners of Strombecker)
• Mike Steube (past Pro slot racer and founder of "Team Checkpoint".)
• Bill Steube (Founder of Associated Mfg an originator in slots. Father of Mike Steube. Later turned to mfg. of R/C cars.
• Joe Sullivan ("Mr. Dart", founder of traction glue. His "Dart" glue was the first used by early pro racers. Once a major slot racing distributor in Dallas, Texas, now only dealing in R/C)
• Mike Tango ( Track owner and originator of "Team Nutley")
• Art Tarver (Known as the "Master of San Diego" racer of the 70's. Three time Western States champ. Third at 76 Nats at Joel's.
  
• *Bill Thirwell (Popular past racer. If you have more infomation on Bill, please email it to me...jf)
• Howie Ursaner (past Pro racer) In top form at 14, went on to win many races with partner Sandy Gross for Team Cobra of New York. Was also a top racer for Team Russkit East during the same time period.
• Len Vucci (past Pro racer. One of the four original Team Russkit members. The team motor builder)
• Herb Wade (West Coast Racer. Former Team Steube-Checkpoint member. An effective and disciplined winner.)

• Ken Wallis (Pre 50's English Slot Pioneer)
• P.A. Watson (Multiple times World Champion and National Champion slot car racer and owner of Pasadena Raceway in Houston, Texas. Also, founder of Jet Racing Products.)
• Dick Wittenauer (top pro racer and motor builder of the 60's. Known as one of the best Arm winder and re-winders of the era.
• Roy Wong Top NAMRA racer in 1968. Was a Dyna Wind sponsored racer. Won the National Championships  in 1968. Best known for his chassis building.

• Pete Zimmerman (past Pro racer and manufacturer. Helped spring the career of John Torre Anderson. Retired in 1972. Zimmerman Armatures were some of the best.)
